I think this is fixed in lp:~mvo/software-center/gwibber-utf8-lp985255, if you
want to help testing, please do:
$ bzr get lp:~mvo/software-center/gwibber-utf8-lp985255
$ cd gwibber-utf8-lp985255
$ ./software-center
and repeat the steps needed to make it crash previously. It should work
now.
