Public bug reported:

pdfjam uses the wrong default papersize in North America (it uses a4 but
should use letter).

IMO it should honor /etc/papersize if it exists, to be compatible with other 
Linux text-processing tools.
If there is some other wayt to configure the default paper size, it should be 
documented and the Ubuntu package made to set it correctly.
