Oh for what I'v seen I'm agree with you. After read you I try this: With not maximized gimp. Aply gaussian filter Go to the top bar of gimp, and YES, focus is lost. No menu is showed(File, etc...). And I try to drag and drop in the top bar and other application is dragged, not gimp.
With maximize gimp, something similar happens, but i can drag and drop gimp after gaussian filter aplied.
