1. I checked 10.04-sessions: /etc/default/halt is exactly the same as in 12.04 (so NOT containing 'INIT_HALT=poweroff') 2. I'm not comfortable with filing a kernel-bug; is it possible that anyone from the Ubuntu bug-squad can do this?
