Okay, so I worked it out. Not only do you need to run btnx-config as per
the message, but you actually need to run it as root. N.B. you might
also need to modify xinput as per http://www.ghacks.net/2011/06/28/how-
to-customize-extra-mouse-buttons-in-linux/
