Oh, one more thing - there have been no other kernel oopses after that one, and as mentioned in the initial bug report, it came from rmmod:ing a wacom tablet kernel module (from sourceforge), and that is a one not included in Ubuntu repositories.
(I tried an alternative one, hoping it would have support for a recent wacom tablet, which was not recognized at all by Ubuntu, but that one did not work either...). In any case I don't consider this to be an Ubuntu bug, as this happened with two 3rd party kernel modules present, one of them closed source, and the other one obviously still not compatible with the tablet I had connected at the time. Ubuntu kernel by itself, with just fglrx present, has had no problems. So, I would not oppose closing this bug.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/981748 Title: Kernel Oops - BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at ffffffffa0e2feb0; RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff81090b03>] [<ffffffff81090b03>] blocking_notifier_chain_register+0x33/0xb0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/981748/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
