Reinstalling restored touchpad functionality. I did install and remove xfstt. I wonder if that caused the problem?
I had also been using the xrandr command but that shouldn't have caused a lock-out of the device. There was no problems when booting to Windows 7, both keyboards and mice were recognized. Going back to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2 still only recognized the wireless mouse before the reinstall. I'll update this bug tomorrow. It may have been the screen saver grabbing the touchpad input but that still doesn't make sense as the problem existed across a full power cycle. And since Zenbooks are a very, very small usergroup I don't expect much help or for this to be priority but if anyone who reads this has any tests I'm happy to try them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988129 Title: 12.04 LTS Beta 2, xorg touchpad input not registering.
