Public bug reported:

When started from the menu, the icon will bounce away and give up, but
no window is created.

This install is fresh (for testing), and is based on desktop. It also
has universe, and multiverse repos in the lists, as well as backports.

When I start it from the command line, I get the following message:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gnome-app-install
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/gnome-app-install", line 21, in ?
    import gdbm
ImportError: No module named gdbm¨

Now starting wajig (which I use for deb management), a fix-install suggests
there are no missing dependencies or conflicts.

For reference the package status:

Does this possibly mean that the dependencies for gnome, or gnome-app-install
are missing maybe a python/gdbm lib reference?
