Daniel, no. Someone could compile gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-
control-center without the revert-gsettings patches, but that's not
supported by Ubuntu and will to some extent break using keyboard
shortcuts in Unity or GNOME Classic. As is mentioned in the bug
description, this bug should get fixed for 12.10 and there are some less
destructive workarounds.
