sima, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please provide the information following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume ? As well, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . However, note you can only test Suspend, not Hibernate, when using a LiveCD. If the issue remains, run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux <BUGNUMBER> Additionally, if you could try to reproduce this with the upstream mainline kernel that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Summary changed: - Supend and Hibernate dont work on my Asus u33jc x64 + Supend does not work on my Asus u33jc x64 ** Description changed: - Supend and Hibernate dont work on my Asus u33jc x64 64bit + Supend does not work on my Asus u33jc x64 64bit i am running Ubuntu 11.4 32bit ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: nautilus 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-11.50-generic-pae 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-11-generic-pae i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Oct 11 17:01:37 2011 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) - --- + --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
