Public bug reported:

Hi There

I am writing this from India. I really want to adopt Ubuntu . But the
only draw back is Ubuntu is not or shall i say Tally(India's most
popular accounting software) , does not run on Ubuntu.

This is in fact a very major draw back which is holding back the acceptance of
Ubuntu in India. 90 percent of small business owners or medium enterprises and
SME's use Tally 9.11v (latest)
The users of this software in India range around 10 million people or more
individually. 50 percent of it may be cracked software , but if its Windows for
OS popularity the same way its Tally for accounting needs.

If you can develop Ubuntu platform to be compatible with Tally , rest
assured within 2 years Ubuntu can be seen as a Major OS at least in
India....... As people would love to have an open source , free and best
of all a stable and a better OS than windows. The USP of Ubuntu as a
free Open Sourceware will be readily accpeted country wide with this
one thing if you guys can manage it .

the site is www.tallysolutions.com

regards
Hemant
