Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6-386

On my MacBook, which uses the appletouch kernel driver and the synaptics X11
driver for trackpad support, the pointer acceleration
can't be changed. Attempts to change this acceleration by using the GNOME
mouse control panel, gsynaptics, and manually editing Xorg.conf have been
unsuccessful.
Using the usbhid driver, pointer acceleration can be changed. This seems like
a bug in the appletouch driver - could this driver either be 1) up[dated to fix
the issue or 2) removed in favor of standard usbhid. Preferably the former, as
usbhid doesn't support advanced features (tapping, scrolling, etc) - though
proper acceleration seems more important.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
