I would like to update the description of this bug based on tests I did on the nightly build on elementary over Ubuntu 12.04.
Due to design changes in Slingshot, where the categories are now displayed vertically, the issue with the cut texts no longer exists. However I have other issues as illustrated in the attached screenshot: 1. The triangle at the top of the screen no longer points to 'Applications' Needed fix: Slingshot should be right aligned on the screen, and the triangle should move to the top right side of the screen 2. The app tiles seem to be cut - compare the width of the tiles on the RTL and LTR version; note the tiles next to the categories pane seem to be shorter in the RTL version 3.
