Public bug reported:

My Ubuntu version: Release: 12.04
Package version: 2.0.4-0ubuntu1

HOW TO REPRODUCE

1) Create a valid sphinxsearch config
2) Start sphinx (service sphinxsearch start). Notice that searchd is running
under sphinxsearch user privileges
3) Restart sphinx (service sphinxsearch restart). Notice that searchd is now
running under root user privileges
4) Restart sphinx again (service sphinxsearch restart). The init script
complains with the message "Restarting sphinxsearch: /usr/bin/searchd already
running.", service fails to restart.

WHAT I EXPECTED TO HAPPEN

Sphinx search have to work under sphinxsearch privileges. It should be
able to restart sphinxsearch as many times as needed.

WHAT HAPPENED INSTEAD

After first restart sphinx started working as root. It is impossible to
restart sphinxsearch daemon twice or more.

** Affects: sphinxsearch (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
