I tested again with kernel 3.2.0-23.36 from Ubuntu 12.04, this bug is
*still* present, the kernel does not send lid close events.
As per the last comment, I looked at what acpid says when I close the
lid, it says nothing, so it doesn't even register the event because the
kernel sends nothing.

2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
