By the way, the faulting instruction appears to be f3 0f c7 30, which
disassembles to vmxon  (%eax).  So it seems your system may not support
virtualization.  I see from the dmesg that your CPU is a Core 2 T7200 ,
which definitely has VT-x, but perhaps the BIOS isn't setting it up
correctly.
