That workaround I mentioned before didn't fix the problem. Every time I reboot the system the speakers stop working again. Just reloading Alsa by running:
sudo killall pulseaudio sudo alsa force-reload makes the speakers work properly again. So, I removed the line "options snd-hda-intel model=dell" from the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf. Even without that line the speakers work fine after reloading Alsa. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/981688 Title: [MSI VR420, Realtek ID 888, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/981688/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
