Public bug reported:
Possibly an issue with gcc multilib support.
Stage 1 gcc (using the native Ubuntu gcc to compile the gcc 4.7.0
source) won't build unless the gcc-multilib package is installed.
After installation of the package, the stage 1 gcc does build
successfully. That stage 1 gcc, however, is unable to link an executable
(e.g. when it tries to compile itself in stage 2), failing with the
diagnostic:
"/usr/bin/ld: cannot find crti.o: No such file or directory"
The default configuration (i.e. no options specified) was used when
configuring the gcc 4.7.0 build.
