This error indicates that you have manually removed the grub2 package in
favor of grub, without configuring it for use as your bootloader.
Start-Date: 2012-05-01 07:16:50
Commandline: apt-get install grub
Install: grub:amd64 (0.97-29ubuntu66)
Remove: grub-pc:amd64 (1.99-21ubuntu3), grub-gfxpayload-lists:amd64 (0.6),
grub2-common:amd64 (1.99-21ubuntu3)
End-Date: 2012-05-01 07:17:03
This is a configuration error, not a bug in Ubuntu. You either need to
configure grub as your bootloader after installing, or preferably,
reinstall grub2 using the following command:
sudo apt-get install grub-pc
** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Invalid
