Public bug reported: As opensource graphics drivers slowly emerge for ARM systems (omap, tegra, samsung, ...) there is some need for a userspace driver for these early implementations of KMS kernel driver. E.g. a new KMS driver for the NVIDIA Tegra GPU is beeing developed on, but also most other graphics chips (also for x86 systems) provide a KMS kernel interface.
At http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-modesetting/ a very basic graphics driver for KMS is available. Please add a driver package (xf86-video-modesetting) to be able to support this basic interface. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: needs-packaging packaging ** Tags added: packaging -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994209 Title: please add a xf86-video-modesetting package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/994209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
