> Is it possible that merely enabling auto-login upon installation results in the account being added to the group?
No it's not, with autologin your user still have a password, the login manager just uses its privileges to log a defined user in without asking for it on boot Well, anyway it's sort of a side argument, there is still a confusing behaviour there. The fact that it's not likely to hit a lot of users is orthogonal, I will let others who have an opinion on the original behaviour comment on that Note though, it would help to have short descriptions or a summary before the detailled version, we get hundred of bug reports a day and it requires motivation to read a one page comment to try to understand an issue (I just read half of the description here before giving up on it) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987330 Title: Insecure login -- not requesting password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/987330/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
