In Ubuntu 11.10 I can change the brightness level but every reboot it started always on maximum level. Now in Ubuntu 12.04 I can't change the brightness level (the meter goes up and down but the actual screen brightness don't change) but the system starts at the brightness level I left on Windows. I'm using the proprietary AMD catalyst drivers. With the open source drivers it happens but sometimes it works, when it works it boots with maximum level like in ubuntu 11.10.
