Sorry, but this is just the way it is supposed to be. This way, I you are on
Kubuntu and would like to try GNOME, you just install ubuntu-desktop. For KDE
on Ubuntu, it is kubuntu desktop. And upgrades are easier, since ifa new
package enters default installation, it is installed this way painlessly.
Feel free to fill a new bug about package description of ubuntu-desktop that it
should be mentioned it can be removed unless you want to dist-upgrade.
