This bug affects me as well. However, I am on 12.04 64bit final release already. I am using a RadeonHD 6870 1GB GDDR5. OpenGL version string: 4.2.11399 Compatibility Profile Context.
I am using the Proprietary AMD Catalyst 12.1 driver.
