After looking at the sound settings again with my Creative XMod USB soundcard hooked up, I found a USB Audio option, and I finally got sound! :) I switched my all my sound settings to USB Audio except for "Sound capture," which didn't beep when I tested it with USB Audio. Instead, I've set it on "Test sound," which does make noise. For "Default Mixer Tracks," I've set it to "Creative Xmod (Alsa mixer)," which further lists PCM, PCM Capture, and Microphone. I"m not sure about that.
I still have a sound problem though. (I still can't get sound without my USB soundcard, but if I can't get an answer, I'll just use my USB soundcard. :( I'm tired of using Windows just because I can't get sound in Ubuntu.) I can't play any system sounds, sounds in Firefox, or sounds in DVD, though I do get video on the latter two. Is there any information that would be different with my Creative Xmod plugged in that I ought to post here? -- no sound anywhere in ubuntu, and mute is off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/116092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
