Could you update compiz to 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1 (in Precise-proposed).
This version contains the following fix:
Some apps (like Remmina) can't full-screen under Compiz (or Unity) (LP: #946388)
This should normally also fix this bug.
Could you test if it solves your issue? If not, please reopen the bug.
