I have this problem, though after that update my laptop didn't boot at all. It didn't boot with the previous kernel either. I managed to boot recovery mode and figured out that downgrading from bcmwl-5.100.82.38 +bdcom-0ubuntu6.1 to bcmwl-5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu6 allowed to boot normally.
