But, if system is booted with kernel 2.6.38-11 (from ubuntu 11.04), it works perfectly with the same userspace tools, including bluetoothd. I suspect this is some problem with ERTM support in kernel 3.0.0, which HDP devices (like this oximeter) use, though I could not reach a definitive conclusion from hcidump logs. Attached are hcidump logs of good (log.281) and bad (log.300) sessions with oximeter. A simple diff shows that some things go diffferently, in security exchange etc. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-terminal 3.0.1-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-11.50-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-11-generic i686 ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Oct 27 22:03:59 2011 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-terminal InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) ProcEnviron: - PATH=(custom, no user) - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-terminal UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-10-26 (1 days ago) XsessionErrors: - (gnome-settings-daemon:1776): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_new_string: assertion `string != NULL' failed - (gnome-settings-daemon:1776): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_get_type_string: assertion `value != NULL' failed - (nautilus:1838): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_action_set_visible: assertion `GTK_IS_ACTION (action)' failed - (nautilus:1838): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_action_set_visible: assertion `GTK_IS_ACTION (action)' failed - --- + (gnome-settings-daemon:1776): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_new_string: assertion `string != NULL' failed + (gnome-settings-daemon:1776): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_get_type_string: assertion `value != NULL' failed + (nautilus:1838): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_action_set_visible: assertion `GTK_IS_ACTION (action)' failed + (nautilus:1838): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_action_set_visible: assertion `GTK_IS_ACTION (action)' failed + --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
