Public bug reported:

At the time, I was simply viewing a WebGL demo of an x-wing fighter
(http://oos.moxiecode.com/js_webgl/xwing/index.html) in FireFox 12.0
(Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0).

Also important to note: this Mac only has a 32-bit EFI firmware, even though
it has 64-bit Ubuntu.
It can only use 3GB out of 4GB of RAM.
Somehow it is still running in dual channel! :o

This Mac passed MemTest x86 just fine, so I don't believe that's the
issue.

If it truly was FireFox that caused the issue this is quite sad. This
hearkens back to my Mac OS 9 days when one misbehaving process would
crash the system. This is the 3rd KP I've had today :'(

This is the first 64-bit linux kernel I have got running on this PC.

----------------
will update!!
