Thomas Lenarz: I really strongly advise you to update your BIOS first. Manufacturers tend to fix things without neccessarily mentioning it in the changelog. For example, on my HP nx7400, Speedstep didn't work in Linux until I updated the BIOS to the latest version. The documentation said nothing about it.
If Asus really offers Windows only updates for a product that shipped with DOS, I'd nag them to supply an alternative. Which exact model of the X51 do you have? For the X51R, there is a DOS update procedure: http://support.asus.com/Documents/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=X51R&s=100&hashedid=qvvRL8XY0ncOXxx6&os=&no=1704 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/656745 Title: notebook crashes on battery with particular wlan or other pcie devices enabled dell vostro 3700 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/656745/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
