** Description changed: Using 12.04 x86 32 bit fresh installation. No additional PPAs enabled, all up to date otherwise (via wired connection). Intel Centrino laptop using ipw2200 wireless. Not sure what package to report this against. Don't think it's network manager related because I still can't connect even if I don't use network manager. This machine has successfully connected to my WEP network with the same configuration in Ubuntu 8.04,10.04,11.04, and 11.10. Also been working - just fine with Windows XP and and my Nexus One, and another Windows 7 - laptop also connects to this network without issue. + just fine with Windows XP and my Nexus One, and another Windows 7 laptop + also connects to this network without issue. During 11.04 and 11.10 network manager would not connect, but I was able to connect by removing network manager and editing /etc/network/interfaces manually adding the following information: auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp wireless-essid myssid wireless-key restricted ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF0123 wireless-mode Managed wireless-channel 3 - - Now, as of 12.04 I cannot connect to the network at all. It doesn't matter if I use network manager, wicd, or remove these tools and edit my interfaces directly as shown. I am no longer able to connect to my wireless network. What used to work very well for over 4 years, now fails to work at all. This is a clean installation of 12.04 with the networking configured the same way it always has been for the last 4 years when it worked. It does not work now. + Now, as of 12.04 I cannot connect to the network at all. It doesn't + matter if I use network manager, wicd, or remove these tools and edit my + interfaces directly as shown.
