In my case, (precise updated from beta) i had to follow the howto you're talking about, just replacing each instance of "hid-multitouch-ubuntu-10.10" by "hid-multitouch-ubuntu-12.04". Hope it helps.
On Precise, i have know window's title bar clic functionality. Geisview seems not to recognise the gesture events, and i still have a bug in nautilus (strange clic-behavior / no click) and unity panel (no right-clic on gtk2-systray icons) after any touch. So there is progress, i'll test more soon..
