i replaced
kernel/drivers/acpi/i2c_ec.ko with the one from the -15 kernel
that FIXES the bug for me!
so https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
source-2.6.20/+bug/118031 is really the source of the problem!
