Public bug reported:
For the Ubuntu CDs/DVDs to be able to boot on machines like the Pegasos
which are chrp machines but can't run yaboot it is necessary to have
compressed kernel with the initrd in the same file. Such a file can for
example be generated with mkvmlinuz from a vmlinux and initrd.gz file.
I know there is lack of space on the CDs, but the DVD should have plenty
of space, right? Would of course be best if it could be included in the
CDs also.
Could an option be to create an additional CD on the mirros that don't
include the traditional vmlinuz/initrd.gz but instead a vmlinuz-initrd-
chrp kernel?
