I have the same problem here, Ubuntu 12.04 i386 + openjdk-7-* and fixed by replacing the line in the script /usr/bin/javaws from: JAVA=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk-i386/jre/bin/java to: JAVA=java
