Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

1- import a CD with iTunes in MP3 file format
2- give the correct infos about artist, title, CD cover etc etc
3- select the files and do 'Advanced - convert ID3 tags - select to convert the
ID3 tags in version 2.*' (necessary to write the tags on the files, not only in
the XML library file of iTunes)
4- take the files out of iTunes (with drag and drop) and copy them on a DAAP
server

You will certainly see when playing files on the DAAP server with Banshee that
the tagging contains lots of garbage.
Reason is that Banshee reads only the ID3v1 tag wich is not tidy at all (the
infos imported from CDDB and such libraries isn't perfect), however the infos
you entered on your files on step 2 and 3 are stored in a ID3v2.* tag format.

Banshee should be aware of ID3v2.* tags to get more infos (CD cover for
example) and enable sharing clean iTunes libraries.

** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
