Public bug reported: Dear ureadahead maintainers,
the cloud-init package's postinst script disables ureadahead using dpkg diversions. In Debian, this would be a policy violation, and I am now packaging cloud-init for Debian. I have discussed with cloud-init's maintainer in Ubuntu and we agreed that ideally, ureadahead should detect cloud-init's presence and not start in that case, instead of being diverted by cloud init. http://lists.debian.org/debian-python/2012/05/msg00047.html Given that ureadahead is not packaged in Debian, the dpkg diversion in cloud-init is not causing trouble, so I will keep it to minimise the delta with Ubuntu. I am opening this bug in Launchpad to track the issue, in order to remove the diversion if eventually ureadahead supports detecting the presence of cloud-init.
