Public bug reported:
After installing Calligra Words, KDE's file associations for plain text
files is changed from Kate (or other plain text editor) to Calligra.
While Calligra is an excellent word processor, it is not suitable for
editing plain text items such as configuration files, scripts, and
similar.
Current MIME types, according to calligrawords:kde4__words.desktop:
MimeType=application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text;application/vnd.oasis.opendocument
.text-
template;application/msword;application/rtf;text/plain;application/x-mswrite;application/vnd
.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document;application/vnd
.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.template
X-Calligra-
DefaultMimeTypes=application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument
.text-
template,application/msword,application/rtf,text/plain,application/x-mswrite,application/vnd
.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document,application/vnd
.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.template
Proposed change: modify the installer such that Calligra does not place itself
at the top of the application list for any text/* type if that type is already
assigned to another application.
