Public bug reported:
My external monitor is configured to be on top of my laptop screen. If I
remove the display cable and press fn + f7 to change display setup, X
crashes. X crashes also if I try to open "system settings -> displays"
after removing the cable.
fn+f7 works fine If external monitor is configured to the right. I can
remove display cable, use fn+f7 or run "system settings -> displays"
without any problems.
I have experienced this x crash issue for a long time, yet today I
discovered that the issue depends on which "side" the external monitor
is configured.
