Mine is working again. I have Nvidia Geforce Go 6150 integrated graphics inside
a Compaq Presario V3000.
When -proposed was released, I first uninstalled nvidia-current and installed
nvidia-current-update (295.49) from -proposed. It worked fine. So, when the
nvidia-current 295.49 driver was finally released, I uninstalled
nvidia-current-update and reinstalled nvidia-current, not without running
apt-get update first.

For those who are still having unity2D being loaded, I know it may sound
silly but... have you checked if Unity3D is selected as the main
session? I've done this mistake a thousand times myself, checking
unity2D whenever I had a problem with 3D and always forgetting to change
it back when a fix was released.
