http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc5-precise/ hung on my system at boot. Had to roll back to 3.2 kernel and remove the 3.4 kernel via synaptic manager. On reboot to 3.2, kindle mounted as expected - not sure what was happening but appears to be fixed now. Tina
