The problem with my CD-ROM drive is that Synaptic package manager can not find a cdrom when I try to add a package source cdrom. I feel the lack of hda and hdc entries in /dev could be the cause.
I get the error: E: Failed to mount the cdrom. The CD-ROM is also not being mounted under /media/cdrom0. I some how feel this is a bug because on the machine I use at work, I also run Feisty , /dev has hda, hdc and sda block devices and not just sda ones. By the way, the two PCs have the same specs HD wise. -- No hda entries in /dev https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120437 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
