Comix registers mimetypes for cbz/cbr/cbt files and contains a MimeType enty in its .desktop file since version 2.7, iirc. The version in edgy (3.1) does not have this problem anymore.
I recommend getting a newer version on dapper, as comix is developed rather quickly and has both gained many new features and fixed lots of bugs since 2.4.
