Hi Emilio, I think the problem is really different.

The ettercap version packaged in debian and ubuntu is taken from [1], a
fork created by user Timothy Redaelli that now is at 0.7.4.2-1.

Debian now is syncing ettercap from github [1] and the main project (at
sourceforge) now is using the same versioning number, and this create a
really big confusion.

So my opinion is to open a debian upstream bug and ask to package the
sourceforge version again, since the developing status is active again.

After this ubuntu will follow in the next sync from debian.

BTW releasing 0.7.5 (now in rc branch) will fix this problem, until
Timothy releases the same 0.7.5 version.
