This bug has already been fixed up-stream: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/3a51b833ea749e1d4fa3fa0a80cc7f20ee5c6d9e/mythtv I've applied it locally and it works for me (running 12.04 recently upgraded from 10.04) Please roll this patch into Ubuntu.
