Do you have the newst Dell BIOS? My computer at some point (without upgrade...) started to overheat too.
If not, try downloading the newest BIOS image installer from Dell: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?c=&s=&cs=&l=&DriverId=R286251 Unfortunately this will require a Windows or DOS system being installed on your computer to run, if you don't have one you could try the following guide for installing a bootable DOS CD-Rom: http://www.linux-sxs.org/hardware/flash_boot_cd.html Good luck! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/819734 Title: Dell Vostro 3700 overheating and shutting down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/819734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
