Besides laptops, a Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq dc7800p Convertible Minitower (Core2Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz, "Grizzly" mainboard with Q35 graphics) also wakes up from suspend only to running fans rather than keyboard lights (Num Lock without effect of toggling LEDs) and screen (black or "no signal").
This is after 10.04 LTS had resumed reliably on the same machine for many months. Unlike https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/989674?comments=all there was no way to a working text console by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 (first thing I tried) and from there to X by Ctrl-Alt-F7, due to a completely non-responsive keyboard. However, the following is displayed on a full-screen text console after entering sudo pm-hibernate just once at a command prompt (well hidden by Unity as Ctrl-Alt-T): watchdog: only one watchdog can use /dev/watchdog. watchdog: error registering /dev/watchdog (err=-16). mei: unable to register watchdog device. ^ mild Bavarian invective I guess... ;-) Afterwards, cycling into Suspend and back with the Sleep & Wake Up buttons of the PS/2 keyboard has been working several times so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999638 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 - won't resume from suspend.
