Hi again and thanks for all the help. I have fixed this by recreating a
symlink.
rm usr/bin/python
ln -s /usr/bin/python2.7 python
This was caused by 'update-alternatives' which is something I use often.
Even when update-alternatives was set to use python2.7 it still gave the
error and stopped me upgrading.
I assume the update script checks for the path /usr/bin/python points to
instead of checking which python is set to default via update-
alternatives or other means.
This is a bug that needs to be fixed.
