i got the same problem with Ubuntu 11.10 (onboard 0.96.1). Here is the output after running the commands: 1) locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE= LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ALL= 2) onboard onboard screen came out.
Onboard still appears blank (all white) when unlocking the screen just as Chady's attachment (bugimage.png). So i think it may be caused by other pros rather than crashing on startup.
