Public bug reported:

Ive been having this problem since the beta of 12.04

When I try to "Run Ubuntu from this USB" The Purple loading screen will
appear, and the dots will blink across as expected. Then the mouse
cursor will appear.. I can move it be it lags then after a shout amount
of time the mouse will move freely however the purple loading screen
hangs.

If I try "install ubuntu on a hard disk", the install wizard comes up,
the mouse lags about in the same way for about a minute... after then
the mouse moves normally but clicking continue doesn't do anything.
(I've waited hours)

If I use the 12.04 alternate the install goes ok but it will crash on
login in much the same way. i.e it will login and crash on the desktop,
the mouse will lag for a bit and then move normally but I cant click
anything. Also I can not enter terminal with ctrl alt f<>keys, however I
can on the login page.

So I then reinstalled 11.10 and updated from that, and i'm having
problems again. It updated to 12.04, restarted and auto logged in.
Everything appeared to be fine. So I logged out, and then it crashed.
>From now it will just boot in to a crash on login screen. (Cant't use
ctrl alt f<keys> for terminal either) .

Other background stuff.

I have had 11.10 installed no problems at all for months now.

I have useds multiple usb pens and other machines (windows(pendrive
linux usb tool) and linux(startup disk creator)) to extract the ISO on
to the usb pen.

My specs are

i7 920, Asus p6td Deluxe, Nvidia gtx580, 2x 60GB OCZ Vertex 2LEs, 6gb
corsair ram,
